Sneak Preview: The Chloe Pink Doodle & Dream Book, Vol. II. Coming Fall 2011

Okay. So just to recap first...

Chloe Pink™ is a little girl with a big message: “Follow Your Dreams, Girls!” A young feminist with a pink baseball cap, she just wants girls to believe in themselves and have the courage to follow their dreams. (She wants the same for boys, too, btw. She just feels that girls especially need to hear this message again and again and again and...well, you get the idea.

So, after putting pen to paper to draw Chloe Pink in 2006, I decided that Chloe Pink needed a few more friends. Don't we all? (Of course, let's not forget. She already has the best friend of all in Pete, her scottish terrier mutt pal. Pete supports Chloe Pink's every move like only a true friend can and DOES.)

And what do you know? Along they came. More friends for Chloe Pink and YOU.

Let's see. There's Chloe Pink's "boy" friend, Owen Green™ of course. He's a boy and he's a friend. OG, as I like to call him, is very socially conscious and wants to save the planet. Watch for Owen Green to encourage kids to "Go Green" with him!

Then there's Brooklyn. Brooklyn™ is one part bookworm one part fashionista. She's probably Chloe Pink's BFF, but they are very different. While Chloe Pink would rather spend time analyzing the different colors of leaves on the trees, Brooklyn loves to shop for every color of skirts and shirts and dresses in the store -- That's when she's not reading a book or studying to ace a test.

Chloe Pink's gang also includes JenBall,™ a super athlete who coaches and cheers on kids to exercise and play sports.

And when they're done, they can head on over to Maria Chocolata's™ cupcake stand. Maria is a young entrepreneur who loves to bake and sell her delicious creations.

So there you have it! A sneak peak at the characters starring in The Chloe Pink Doodle & Dream Book, Volume II. Coming this fall.

If you haven't checked out Chloe Pink's Doodle & Dream Coloring Book #1 yet, it's time to get started! " And while you're at it, don't forget! Follow your dreams, girls (and boys).

Chloe Pink™ Every Other Daily: 2/23

Ten things you may not know about Chloe Pink™:

1) Chloe Pink™ has been in Sharna Fulton's brain since she was seven or eight years old. She was first actually put to paper in 2006 at Myrtle Beach (several years later.)

2) Chloe Pink's best friend is Pete, a Scottish Terrier Mutt. He's always got her back. That's how you know he's her BFF.

3) Chloe Pink™ is the cartoon spokesperson for girls. She believes in herself and wants all other girls to believe in themselves, too.

4) Chloe Pink™ will share the stage with Owen Green in the next "Doodle 'n' Dream Coloring Book." Coming soon -- because boys should follow their dreams, too.

5 Chloe Pink has other friends, too: Brooklyn™, JenBall™, Maria Chocolata™ and Owen Green™.

6) Chloe Pink™ has a National Director of Sales and Development. Sounds important, huh? Her name is Kelly Liddell and CP couldn't do it without her. No way! No how. Nuh UH!

7) Chloe Pink™ loves to hang out at the cafe with Pete. The name of the cafe is "Cow and Beanwater™ .

8) Chloe Pink™ is accepting of all people and animals, etc. She's anti-bully and pro good vibes!

9) Chloe Pink™ believes that creativity is the key that unlocks every girl's (and boy's) sense of self confidence. She and Sharn' talk at schools and Girl Scout meetings and book stores and cafes all over Atlanta to encourage and show kids how to tap into their own creativity. Contact deskofchloepink@gmail.com to find out about having CP visit your group.

10) Chloe Pink™ has rainy days, too. But that doesn't stop her from following her dreams! And it should NEVER EVER EVER stop you!

Meet total prepster, Owen Green

Owen Green is the ying to Chloe Pink's yang. When she says tomato, he says "toe motto." But they actually get along pretty well. Wearing khakis, penny loafers and his tortoise shell retro 60's eyewear, Owen is stylish and preppy. He's also extremely organized and has a highly developed system for packing his messenger bag for school each day. Constantly worrying about global warming, the fact that his last name is "Green" is merely coincidental. Owen is theatrical and pretends he lives on Martha's Vineyard. He even plans to go to an Ivy League college like Harvard or Yale on a croquet, tennis or running scholarship. He'll probably be an architect or a fashion designer when he grows up. He's also an expert on pop culture. He can tell you every show on Broadway and what book titles are on the "New Day Times" bestseller list. In fact, he reads the "New Day Times" every morning. His favorite TV shows are Project Runway, Glee, Morning Joe, Top Chef and Meet the Press. He refers to things he likes as "vintage." For instance, he'll say things like "this organic peanut butter is so vintage!" Owen can be a bit temperamental and moody sometimes. He's been known to throw little fits like the time he found a fruit roll-up with high fructose corn syrup in his lunch bag in the school cafeteria. (It was packed by his mother, Brooke.) He even lashes out at "The Brookster," as he refers to her fondly and sometimes not. Most recently, it was when he found one of his 53 assorted colors of "Rocket" brand pique knit polo shirts folded incorrectly. Still, all the girls love Owen. He's their go-to guy to find out what shoes to wear with a new party dress, the best place to go for ice cream and how to design cool paper airplanes.
